STEVE FINES

I consider myself a landscape and nature photographer. My primary subjects include landscapes, wildlife, flowers and some macro work.

With landscapes I am currently quite excited about the possibilities of stitching together multiple images to make very high resolution panoramic images. Also, I've been exploring different software and techniques to increase the dynamic range of the digital sensor.

I've just started photographing birds within the last six months or so. My current thinking here revolves around various ways to show their motion, beauty and place in the landscape.

I fully admit to really enjoying the gear of photography. I spend a good bit of time reviewing lens performance, RAW converters and other imaging software, camera sensors, printing techniques and the myriad other factors which go into producing quality images.

My camera equipment is primarily Canon, except for the wide angle lenses which are Zeiss. Loads of ancillary equipment comes from Gitzo, RRS, Lowepro and a variety of others. Computing platform is a dual 2.5ghz G5 Mac.
